2009 Bathurst Street and Custom

The 2009 WPS Bathurst 12 Hour had a strong motorcycling influence this year. Not only did it have passionate motorcycle rider and actor Eric Bana competing and the traditional motocross jumping but it had several road motorcycle activities that proved extremely popular.

On Saturday February 21 forty eight motorcycles participated in the Second Annual Street and Custom Motorcycle Show near the front entrance to the famous Mt. Panorama Circuit in a tarred area situated next to the start/finish line.

The bikes were competing for a range of trophies and cash prizes from 9am to 4pm as well as participating in the now traditional parade lap around the circuit. For the second year in a row the show bikes were invited to lead the procession of cars and motorcross bikes in honour of the longstanding motorcycle history at the track.

This years show attracted a wide range of street and custom motorcycles. The quality of the custom bikes was exeptionaly high with two of them taking out peoples choice and best bike which came with tropies and $50 cash prize each.

Congratulations to all who entered particularly Glenn with his 2008 Custom Chopper utilizing a Patrick Motor made in Los Angeles (Peoples Choice) and Big Al with his custom Yamaha Roadstar 1600 (Best Bike in Show).

Special thanks to this year’s sponsors Shannons Insurance, Brotherhood Christian Motorcycle Club, Live to Ride Magazine, Sam Laws Motorcycles (Orange) , Beard Brothers Motorcycles (Bathurst) and Great Western Motorcycles (Bathurst).
