2012 Bathurst Bike Show

Bathurst Street and Custom Motorcycle Show – Saturday February 4

A large number of colourful and popular motorcycles  arrived in town  for the Bathurst Street and Custom Motorcycle Show  held for the second time outside the Bathurst Regional Council.

Previously held as part of the 12 Hour support events the Show was for the second year being held in Russell Street, thanks to the generosity of Bathurst Regional Council.

Families Welcomed

The visiting bikers and local families were welcomed by Mayor Greg Westman and there was be plenty to amuse everyone including lots of motorcycles for the adults to look at and fun for the kids.

Entry was free for the general public and those displaying their motorcycles. The only entry charge was for those wishing to enter the formal competition, where the charge was $10.

Fun For Everyone

Amongst the  throng were  displays organised by local motorcyclists as well as Shannons Insurance, Beard Brothers Motorcycles, Capital Harley Davidson, Bikers Australia, Motorcycle Council of NSW and Brotherhood Christian Motorcycle Club.

There was a free jumping castle for the kids as well as lots of information about various motorcycle organisations and event t-shirts for sale.

Lots of music

One of the highlights of this year’s Bathurst Street and Custom Motorcycle Show was the appearance of rock band Subtlebric. Formed in 2003 this band plays some popular rock and roll covers as well as some of their own impressive work.

Well known from the Silverwater Street and Custom in Sydney each year, Subtlebric has played at the last few motorcycle shows at Mt Panorama during the 12 Hour Race meeting and at last year’s show in Russell Street.

Trophies Galore

Organiser Greg Hirst handed out the 30 trophies donated by fifty8george at 2.30pm with the help of Bikers Australia. This  included 15 competition awards and 15 special awards for those not entering the formal competition.

“February last year there was a great turnout of motorcycles and locals keen to check it out, especially after 2BS had been plugging the show so often. I had riders from Dubbo, Orange, Lithgow, Sydney and even Wollongong come along. The family friendly nature of this event and the fact that it is free attendance should ensured a terrific day,” said Mr Hirst.

Event Sponsors

Special thanks to Shannons Insurance, Brotherhood CMC and Live to Ride Magazine for their ongoing support to keep this motorcycle show in Bathurst.

In 2012 Bathurst Regional Council, FM station 2bs, B Rock 99.3 FM, Bathurst Goldfields, fifty8george and local motorcycle shops Capital Harley Davidson,  Great Western Motorcycles, Beard Brothers Motorcycles and Bikers Motorcycles added their support with sponsorship. This year Victory Motorcycles had also come on board as a trophy sponsor

Bathurst Council were a great support, providing the road closure and stage cover, local shop fifty8george provided the trophies and 2bs plugged the event regularly.

Thanks to all the local businesses and motorcycle shops that made this event possible.
